Sunday Afternoon At Cafe Aroma

April 11, 2010 by Elena Rego 9 Comments

Polenta Pie

You’d think we live there no?  We don’t, but we do… sort of.  In any case, despite the fact that Jon and I were at Cafe Aroma last night to savor an Abalone dish that Sam the chef had made, we found ourselves there again this afternoon to meet with our friend Rachael so Jon could help her out with her new website.  It was a lovely afternoon with live music, and although I had already eaten at home, it was nice being there just to hang out and get some work done while Rachael and Jon talked code.

Both Jon and Rachael ended up ordering lunch, and I couldn’t resist taking pictures of their food.  The Polenta Pie above is what Rachael had.  Isn’t that gorgeous?  I’ve had it before and its delicious.  Gluten free, vegetarian, and dairy free, its got Lily Rock dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, bell pepper,
artichoke hearts and roasted garlic served in a marinara boat.  Sigh…

So this is your little bit of food porn for the day. We are actually heading back to Cafe Aroma tonight to watch our friend Conor O’Farrell in the HBO special, The Pacific.  Rumor has it that our friends are treating us to dinner.  I’m a bit over done on the eating out, but for Cafe Aroma, I can make an exception!

Hmmm. It was as delicious as it was beautiful. Roasted garlic is always such a decadent treat. And, with garlic being a Cafe Aroma trademark, I might add that one can never leave Cafe Aroma without garlic breath strong enough to make a vampire run for cover. But man, is it worth it…so, so worth it.
Thanks for the great company and lesson!

Of course, as you know, we ended up back at Aroma that night and I was torn between ordering this for dinner or the Jalapeno Pesto Shrimp pasta. The pasta won over because Frank happened to have some gluten free pasta for me! But next Wednesday when I go for my work day, I’m sooooo having this.

And please! Thanks for letting me tag along for your meeting. I find that if I’m around Jon while he is talking all his site development talk, I pick some of it up by osmosis! 🙂

It is tasty! So so tasty! And I have to say that I’m not a big war show fan, but because our friend is in it, its more about the support and the community experience of watching him together… at our favorite place no less! So all that to say that The Pacific has become a super fun group experience for our Sunday nights. Can’t beat that!

I just got back from eating lunch and I looked at this picture and think that meal looks delicious. That’s impressive because usually food doesn’t look as good when I’m not hungry. This place could make you work up an appetite, eh? Love your site!
