Moving to Maui was both about our love for the Ocean as it was for my own love of food community. Early on when Jon and I were spending our Summers here, we seemed to fall quickly into community
I suppose it’s natural to gravitate towards your tribe and we did. Jon with the tech community and I with the food community. Slow Food Maui was in it’s 2nd year here and I instantly fell in love with its members, its mission and the lens from which it tuahgt me of the beauty of Maui.
Over 5 years later, not only are we living here, but I’ve been a Board Member of Slow Food Maui for the last 3.
Slow Food is a global, grassroots organization linking the pleasure of good food with a commitment to local communities and the environment.

Every year Slow Food International holds a massive convivium in Italy and delegates from each chapter are invited to attend. This year I get to go and I’m telling you… I’m beside myself with excitement.
