The Essentiality Of Being Centered

September 10, 2010 by Elena Rego 7 Comments

Orange Gerbera Daisy In a Stream

“A centered person is one whose thoughts are focused, not scattered; someone who resides in a place of peace within, rather than bobbing in the choppy waters of ill health and emotional volatility.  Just as a centered individual makes the best friend, student, or parent, such an individual also makes the best cook.”

I was just thinking about this concept today, but in somewhat different terms. So true…!

So true. When I am not fully present in the kitchen, the dish is bound to fail.

Sage words. Something to ponder over on a nice quiet walk…

Oh, I am so not centered when I'm cooking. It's not that I'm off balance or anything, I just love orchestrating several things coming together at the same time. Sometimes it works wonderfully. Other times? Let's not talk about that. But thanks anyway for the reminder about being balanced. I'll try to do a better job of remembering…maybe then I won't burn so many cookies! Even though my husband says he likes burnt cookies…I have my pride to protect here!
