Gluten Free Bread Loaf

February 17, 2011 by Elena Rego 4 Comments

Bob’s Red Mill Homemade Wonderful Bread Mix is now a total staple in my pantry.  I’ve mentioned before that I’ve tried quite the variety of pre-baked gluten free bread loaves from the market as well as mixes.  None of them were remotely as good as Bob’s Red Mill mixes.  The bread is soft, moist, and so so delicious.

Whats even better is that a couple of months ago, Jon and I invested in a Cuisinart Programmable Breadmaker.  It has completely revolutionized my life.  If you have spent anytime here, you know I SUCK at baking.  Its like some genetic defect, I swear.  But this machine, has simply changed all that.

Jon is a big sandwich eater, and really hasn’t gone gluten free. But he finds that it may be good for him to do so for his own health, and having bread available for him at all times has me making a fresh loaf of bread at least once a week.  Can you imagine it?  Freshly made bread all the time, and the smell… *swoons*

My gluten free world is expanding people.  I am now having buttered toast with my coffee and milk on cold mornings!  So if you’re a Celiac sufferer or gluten intolerant, I recommend having these mixes in your pantry.  Several.  Always.

I like their white bread mix as well as the whole grain bread mix, which is a hearty seed filled mix that gives you a savory hearty flavor.  I use the bread for toast, sandwiches, making bread crumbs, croutons, french toast, paninis in the press, and warm bread chunks to use in sopping up the olive oil and garlic served at Cafe Aroma.  Yes, I now package up some break in a zip lock bag and take it with me to the restaurant.

A girl has to have her gluten free bread, no?

Gotta say that after trying dozens of gluten free bread options this is the first and only I truly find not just palatable but actually good.

I'm making another loaf today. I think I'm going to start a ritual of making fresh bread every Monday!

I really like the Hearty Whole Grain bread mix. It's yummy. Now that I am gum free though I'm trying to make my own bread. If that weren't an issue I'd for sure keep using these mixes. 🙂 Enjoy!
